Fight against the flu

The Flu common name of influenza, is a deadly viral infection that infect your respiratory system. As the flu attacks lungs, nose and throat; there is a high possibility of children, old aged, pregnant women and people with chronic disease or weak immune systems being attacked by it quickly. 

Symptoms: 
Fever, chills, muscle pain, cough, runny nose, headache and fatigue.

Flu is primarily treated with rest and fluid intake to allow the body to fight the infection on its own. So, now we are going to discuss about the foods that one should eat while having flu. the foods like;

1. Water : Having a cold or the flu, means losing more fluids than normal. Therefore, you get dehydrated much quicker than usual, especially when you have a high fever or experience vomiting, heavy sweating, or diarrhea. And as a result, these illnesses drain out the moisture from the body, and affects certain functions of our body. So drinking lots of water when you’re sick with a cold or flu can help loosen the mucus in your nasal cavity and relieve congestion and also keeps your body hydrated.

2. Ginger Tea: Ginger also has a role in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. Raw ginger is composed of 79% water, 18% carbohydrates, 2% protein, and 1% fat (table). In 100 grams, raw ginger supplies 80 Calories and contains moderate amounts of vitamin B6 and the dietary minerals, magnesium and manganese. Using ginger in tea is a helpful remedy in cough and sore throat.

3. Garlic: Garlic is a delicious aromatic herb that is not only used in cooking, but it also boosts your health. It has been used as a medicine to prevent or treat various diseases and conditions for thousand of years. Garlic is most well-known for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. They help control bacterial, viral, fungal, yeast and worm infections.

4. chicken soup: The hot soup helps keep hydration, and break up the congestion associated with both colds and the flu. The warm elements along with salt in the soup can soothe a sore throat.

5: Almonds: Almonds are among the world’s most popular tree nuts.
Almonds are high in healthy monounsaturated fats, fiber, protein and 
various important nutrients. Almonds increase blood circulation, strengthen the bones, protect the skin, aid in digestion, include lower blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol levels and reduced blood pressure . It promotes weight loss because reduce hunger.

6. Yogurt : Yogurt is full of vitamins and protein, it’s also a source of lactobacillus, a probiotic (or beneficial type of bacteria) that helps fight viral infections and also boots your immune system.

7. Spinach: Like all greens, spinach is enriched with nutrients and vitamins, especially Vitamin A. It is good for eye sight and is recommended by doctors as a dietary inclusion. The leaves are also a rich source of iron and fiber.

8. Pomegranate juice: It is one of the healthiest fruits in the  world. It  has rich anti-oxidant, anti-viral and anti-tumor properties and is said to be a good source of vitamins. Especially with  vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E, also with folic acid.

9. Pumpkin seeds: It contains vitamin C, energy and other nutrients like water, carbohydrate, fat, protein and such other. Zinc helps to increase the production of infection-fighting white blood cells.
10. Wheat germs: The edible part of the wheat kernel contains three different parts - the bran, the germ and the endosperm. With these three components, whole grains offer the eater elements like fiber, complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and antioxidants and more others.
