Pesimmon plant: Germination, Growing and health benefits

                                     PERSIMMONS
Persimmon is the name given to a number of different species of highly similar fruits from the same scientific family, different types of persimmons have been classified into the Japanese persimmon, the American persimmon, the black persimmon, the Date-plum tree and the Indian persimmon. Persimmon, also known as the ‘Divine Fruit’ due to its scientific name of Greek origin, is found during autumn.

Persimmons in two different variety,
Hachiya: the Hachiya, is acorn-shaped and needs to be almost melting in texture before it eat .This type of persimmon makes up approximately 90 percent of the available fruit. It is identifiable by its acorn-like shape. This persimmon is tart until it becomes fully ripe.
Fuyu: This persimmon is similar in color to the Hachiya, but looks like a squashed tomato, is smaller and sweeter, and is edible while still firm. In fact, the Fuyu was developed by breeding out the tannic acid from the Hachiya, making it tastier and easier to eat whole and raw.

Planting
Persimmons are great trees for the home gardener more beautiful. It is very easy to plant. At first need to dig a hole wider than it is deep. Then, choose a plant with nicely developed roots. The crown should sit a tad above the soil line to accommodate settling. Then filling the soil to create a pyramid in the center of the hole. Set the tree on top, and add enough dirt to fill the hole.
It doesn't amend the soil because the roots need to adapt to the nutrients that will be available for the next 100-plus years. Instead, using other protective measures like mulch. Mulch helps to cut down on evaporation and also keeps the roots cooler in the summertime. High-density planting or several trees planting in one hole in smaller yards to provide lots of fruit, great pollination and easy harvesting all in one compact area.

Grafting

Starting persimmons from seed is relatively easy, but the final tree may or may not be exactly the way that one want it to be. It can be developed, locally adapted persimmon varieties by setting aside a patch of land to test out dozens of different seeds. The persimmons in the test strip can be planted much closer together since it just need them to grow to about five feet tall, at which point they will begin to fruit. The favorite varieties from this test bed is need to select and graft scion wood onto seedlings started at the same time in their permanent location.

Caring

Persimmons are also very easy to maintain.Structural cuts is also very important. Structural cuts create strong branches to support lots of fruit. It is very important to control size and doesn't let the trees grow any taller than the height the hands can reach over the head. Anything above that is too hard to harvest without a ladder.Another very interesting process is "kiss" method: keep it short and simple. Moderate pruning can also help reduce the tree's tendency to be alternate bearing or fruiting every other year.

 Fruit

While most fruit needs warm weather to ripen, persimmons are ready during the fall. Persimmons are a fall crop primarily ripening in September all the way to the beginning of the next year. There are two varieties of persimmons. The astringent fruit is eaten when it has become jelly-soft.
The nonastringent fruit, which is gaining in popularity, is eaten while still firm. The American palette likes firm fruit, and so the Fuyu persimmon is a very common choice. Persimmons are a great source of vitamins A and C as well as of potassium and fiber.

Rambutan Plants Cultivation ,Growing ,Care, Use and its Surprising Health Benefits.

Rambutan (scientifically termed as ‘Nephelium Lappaceumis’) is a fruit that definitely features in the list of ‘Most Exotic fruits of Our Planet’. It’s a fruit not a lot of people know about. However, some experts call it ‘super fruit’ because of the many benefits its ingestion has. This fruit resembles lychees in the way it looks- it is red coloured on the outside while it is inside it white, it is oval in shape and is generally one to two inches in length. Moreover, like lychees, it is also found in bunches with stems sticking out of them. The fruit has a thin, leather-like skin layer with multiple tube-like structures sticking out of it that seems like spikes on a hedgehog. Sometimes, one can also find rambutans having greenish yellow or orange exterior skin colours. The fruit, in many ways, also looks exactly like a sea urchin.

The trees on which this fruit grows have some interesting characteristics as well. The fruit grows on trees which are about 10-20 feet (which is nearly 3.05-6.1 m) high. These trees generate cultivable fruits twice every year- a smaller batch of mid-spring along with a bigger one at the end of fall. Some of the rambutan trees are male and therefore do not produce fruits at all. Several trees are hermaphrodites, i.e., producing both female and male flowers, while some are entirely female. The hermaphrodite trees, thus, are the most fruitful (pun intended).

They’re white or even green in colour, plus some variation exists in between the female and male flower. Biologically speaking, cross-pollination is essential for female trees, in order for them to bear fruits. The rambutan flowers help majorly in this by attracting the bees to their high-quality nectar. Thus, without the flowers, there would be no fruit at all.

Rambutans, apart from tasting quite good, have several nutritional characteristics which are beneficial for our health.

Benefit of Rambutan:-

Helps You Lose Weight

Rambutan resembles a lychee fruit and can be found naturally throughout Southeast Asia. These fruits are a pretty low source of essential nutrients, but they make up for it thanks to their moderately high concentration of manganese, niacin, magnesium, and vitamin C. Rambutan fruits are known to provide many nutritional and health benefits, which is why there are so many dishes involving it.

Although eaten raw the fruit has a somehow low nutritional value, its skin contains potent antioxidants and anticancer polyphenols like caffeic acid, ellagic, and gallic acid. Over the next few minutes, we will go through the ten biggest health benefits of Rambutan.

Because of its high fibre yet low-calorie contents, Rambutan can help you lose quite a bit of weight. This is not only due to its low-calorie contents but also because of how much water they contain, which is assimilated by the body over time while tricking your stomach into thinking it is full. Its seeds also help reduce weight, but you must remember that raw seeds can be somehow dangerous, which is why it is advised to crush the seeds and combine them with other foods.
Rambutan Regenerates Blood Cells

Thanks to its high copper contents, Rambutan will accelerate your body’s white and red blood cell regeneration. Red and white cells are responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the blood system while defending the organism from a microbial attack at all times. Rambutan also contains manganese which humans need to produce useful enzymes that perform a variety of vital biochemical functions.

Makes Your Skin Smoother

Rambutan is known to possess many health benefits, yet many of the women who are fond of it swear by its ability to smoothen the skin. Due to their high water content, Rambutan will hydrate the skin, making it soft and supple. Then again, many fruits possess the capacity to smoothen the skin thanks to their rich water content. Rambutan, however, doesn’t contain the calorie concentration of other fruits, thus being better for people who are on a diet.

Rambutan Makes Your Bones Stronger

Not many fruits contain the high concentration of calcium, phosphorus, and iron that Rambutan fruits contain. Your body needs calcium on a daily basis to strengthen the bones, while phosphorus helps with their regeneration. Like we said, Rambutan also contains quite a bit of iron which helps haemoglobin transport oxygen from the lungs to different organs and tissues throughout the body.

Good for Your Kidneys

Like we already pointed out, Rambutan contains phosphorus among a diversity of other useful contents. Now phosphorus has many functions within the body, from helping bone regeneration to protein formation and cellular repair. It also plays an important role in keeping your kidneys healthy. It does this by encouraging the healthy balance of all fluids eliminated from the body, thus helping your kidneys remain toxin-free.

Rambutan Prevents Constipation

Apart from its high water content that helps the body stay hydrated and balanced, Rambutan also contains around 3g of dietary fibre per 100g of pulp. Because of this, it contributes to relieving constipation quite a bit. You see, dietary fibre adds bulk to stools, encouraging their proper elimination. Rambutan is also known for killing and expelling intestinal parasites thanks to its antifungal properties.

Gives You Energy

Thanks to their high carbohydrate contents, Rambutan can be used as a natural energy booster. Its almost 20% carbohydrates content helps regulate blood sugar levels thus providing your body with enough energy to perform a variety of cognitive and physical activities. Because of this, your body no longer needs to use proteins for energy, using carbohydrates to perform essential cellular functions instead.

Rambutan Contains Vitamin C

Even a handful of Rambutan is enough to provide your body with all the vitamin C and manganese it needs to function properly. Manganese and vitamin C are responsible for protecting you against oxidative stress chronic diseases, and premature ageing. Furthermore, vitamin C stimulates collagen production, a protein that our body needs to maintain the structure of our blood vessels and skin.

Can be Used to Treat Common Illnesses

Interestingly enough, you can use Rambutan to treat common illnesses like thrush, headaches, or even dysentery. Traditionally, people have been applying Rambutan leaves on their forehead whenever they had a headache to ameliorate the pain. By creating a paste from the tree’s bark, you can treat thrush apparently, while its roots can be used to treat fever. This being said, you can use Rambutan to cure almost any common illness along with a few uncommon ones as well.

Rambutan Fights Cancer

Not only can Rambutan be used to treat common illnesses, but the antioxidants contained by its fruit can help protect you against cell alteration and DNA deterioration, which are the main causes of neurodegenerative diseases and cancer. Like we already said, Rambutan contains a variety of useful contents like vitamin C, manganese, p-Coumaric acid, caffeic acid, ellagic acid, and gallic acid, chemicals that have been known to reduce stomach cancer, ulcers, and neurodegenerative diseases like dementia or Parkinson’s.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF DRAGON EYE FRUIT

1.Dragon eye fruit can be incorporated into your skin care regimen. It helps to fight the signs of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines when used as a face pack once a week.

2.The amount of vitamin C in dragon eye fruit is high because the dragon eye fruit is a natural fruit which provides a rich balance of nutrients coming along with the vitamin C.

GERMINATION GUIDE
Place fresh Logan seeds on a damp paper towel. Roll the paper towel to encase the seeds. Seal it in a plastic bag and put it in a warm location for two weeks. After the seeds germinate, carefully place each and one in a pot and 1-inch deep in a mix of equal parts compost, peat moss, and perlite. Soak the peat moss and perlite overnight to hydrate the dry materials before combining them with the compost.

Alternately, place peat pots on a tray and fill them with moist seed starting mix, and then sow just one seed in each pot 1-inch deep. Cover the pots with plastic and put the tray in a bright, warm location or on a seed heat mat set at 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the plastic when the seedlings appear. After the seedlings have several true leaves, plant them in the pot.

FERTILIZING
Fertilize Logan trees with a balanced 5-5-5 fertilizer every two months, beginning with 1/4 pound fertilizer one month after planting. Spread the fertilizer over the soil from the trunk to the drip line and water thoroughly. In the second year, apply 1/2 pound of fertilizer every three months, and in the third year, apply 1 pound every three months. Mature trees require 3 to 5 pounds of fertilizer once in spring and again at harvest.

SEED GERMINATION TIPS
Germinating tropical seeds can be both exceedingly easy, and very tricky. Certain seeds begin to sprout inside the fruit as it ripens. Many other seeds go into a period of dormancy that must be broken for them to germinate. Considering that "tropical seeds" encompass plants growing in such varying, but often subtlety different climates, there are a number of different strategies for germinating tropical seeds in your garden.  The only constant requirement for pretty much any seed is to keep the soil temperature warm, usually about 75-85F. Always remember, tropical seeds are not the same as the tomato, vegetable and flower of seeds you might find at a local garden store. They have widely varying germination times that can range anywhere from the Ice Cream Bean (Inga edulis), which germinates while still inside the fruit, too many types of palms, which average up to 9-12 months for germination. Fortunately, the latter is the exception, not the norm. Germinating the exotics can be quite fun and extremely rewarding, but often requires a different mindset and different approach than that used for germinating the common garden annuals.

A world apart in germination ease from some of the tropical s, most will germinate rapidly (within days to a week or two) under standard conditions. A few, such as the peppers can be trickier, so read some of our comments below. For the most part, garden annuals need minimal pre-treatment and germinate fairly well in regular soil and with moderate water. Soil temperature requirements vary, with certain seeds such as tomatoes and peppers germinating best in warmer soils and others such as lettuce, may germinate well in cooler soils.

It is best to use by mixing 2gms of fungicide in 10-litre water and spray it on the soil before sowing seeds. Or use in any plant at first time when you place in soil or report.
