Wisteria flower seed germination tips

Wisteria is the climbing tree for the English cottage garden. A good wisteria is an absolute joy in May and June when the beautiful, scented pendants of flowers drape from the branches in a breathtaking display. Most of the time the gardeners find these climbing plants a little daunting. It is very difficult to that pruning and training just feels far too complicated. It’s a shame because it’s not as tricky as you might think - in fact, wisteria is actually very easy to grow. By the correct care, these long-lived twining climbers will reward you with many years of pleasure in your garden.

BENEFITS OF WISTERIA

1.If the cottage garden you own has a fence needing some spring blooms and fragrance, you may wish to think about the addition of Wisteria.

2. It's perfect for covering a blank wall and, due to its heavy leaf growth, includes a perfect shade source for a pergola or arbor. It is best known for its quick growth, most plant species may be invasive if not pruned upon a consistent basis.

GERMINATION

There are two more common varieties available are Wisteria Florinda( Japanese Wisteria) and Wisteria Vines (Chinese wisteria).

Prepare a seeding tray or individual pots with potting mix. For indoor flowers, add some compost. Plant the wisteria seeds 1/4-inch deep and cover them lightly with soil. Be sure to moisten the soil.

At first, we should nick wisteria seeds then keep it stay for 10 to 12 hours. We always have to use diluted fungicide water

Fill up your planting cells with a seed starting mix. Saturate the soil, allowing it to drain off. Place two wisteria seeds in each planting receptacle and cover with no more than 1/4 inch of the seed sprouting mix.

Keep your wisteria seeds in a room in your house that has ample light and warmth. Inspect the seeds each day. Germination time for wisteria seeds is sporadic; it can require 10 to 30 days before you will see any sprouts.

Once your wisteria seeds have sprouted and are 4 to 5 inches tall, with at least two sets of leaves, decide if you want to plant them directly into the ground, or in other growing containers, such as barrels.

FERTILIZATION
You have to Fertilize the wisteria seeds every few months after the vine starts to grow.

PRUNING
Wisterias need pruning twice a year in July/ August and again in February.

WATERING -Wisteria often needs to appreciate some extra water between July and September. This is when the buds are formed for next year’s flowers. If they run short of water during these months this can reduce your display in the following summer.During the germination process, keep the seedlings well watered. Germination should occur between 10 and 20 days, although some varieties will take longer.

Begonia flower seed germination

It is difficult to grow Begonias from seed, but the seeds themselves are quite easy to retrieve from plants at the end of the flowering period. These annual plants can flower throughout summer but produce seeds in small seed pods toward the end of the growing season. Annuals do not return from their roots in the following growing season, so you must retrieve the seeds in fall and store them until spring. The many different begonia species can be used for borders, container gardens or grown indoors as houseplants.

FLOWER SPECIFICATION

Light Requirement for Begonias: Bright Light to Filtered Light

Water Requirement for Begonia: Drench, Let Dry

Humidity for Begonias: Average Home

Fertilizer for Begonias: High Phosphorus

Potting Mix for Begonias: All-Purpose

Propagation of Begonias: Division, Leaf Cuttings, Seed, Stem Cuttings

Decorative Use for Begonias: Hanging Basket, Table

Temperature: 2 to 75°F (22 to 24°C). Keep temperature as

Height: 0.5 to 1.5 feet

Flower colour: Red, white, pink

Germination Time: At 7-10 days the radical emerges and the flats should be removed from the 100% humidity environment. After 2 weeks, germination should be complete.

Fertilizer: Feed with huge water, to keep the moisture (if required). Use vermicompost and also use the mixture of water and rotten mastered oil cake - 20:1 weekly to feed.

Growing From Seed - we need to Wax begonia seed for sown indoors four to six months before the last spring frost date. Sow the very fine, almost powder-like seeds in a sterile growing mix and water the plants from below to avoid problems with damping-off, a fungal disease. Press the seeds into the soil but do not cover them with soil; they require light to germinate. Cover the seed flat with glass or plastic to maintain high humidity. We have to take 14 to 20 days for germination. Soil temperatures must have between 70° and 75°F are ideal.

Step 1

Use a flat seedling tray and its deep will be 5 centimetres. Make sure you have plenty of holes in it for good water drainage.

Step 2

As the seeds are perfect in size then you can put the seeds over it by 1/3 after that cover the seeds with seedling mix only about 1 cm (one centimetre)

Step 3

Take equal quantity of sand, soil and vermicompost. Then mix all the three ingredients into one container.

Step 4

Sprinkle diluted fungicide water (2gm in 1-litre water) after sowing the seeds. We have to care about putting the seed because seeds will not go deep into the mixture.

Step 5

Thereafter spread the Begonia seeds in the mixture. If your seeds are so tiny then you can spread water very lightly and carefully on the seed.Make sure that the water must be mixed with diluted fungicide powder. It is very important to follow that the seeds will not to go very deep inside the mixture by speeding water on the seed if it happens then the fertilization of the seeds have become difficult.

Step 6

Cover tightly plastic polythene wrap over the pot to promote soil moisture retention and place it in a dimly lit area of the house. Lift the plastic daily to check that the soil is moist. If not, lightly moisten it with a water-filled spray bottle before replacing the plastic. Expect germination within three to five days.

Step 7

Remove the plastic as soon as the seedlings emerge, and gradually move the pot to a brighter area over a two-week period so that at the end of the time they're acclimated to being in full sunlight.

Step 8

Minimum warm, above 60ºF (15.5ºC), is needed inside the container and it should be placed in the sunny area. After that, the whole thing should be covered with a poly bag and after 21 days, the plastic can be removed.

Step 9

Watering it as it is required. Place the container in a semi shaded place. Begonia needs a proper sunny area to germinate.

Water the plant. Most of the plants are needed a bit of extra watering after first being planted, in order to avoid what is known as ‘transplant shock’. Give your begonias a heavy watering, so that the soil is moist but not drenched. The flowers will need to be watered every few days from there on, either manually or with a sprinkler system. Begonias don’t tolerate heavy watering well, so don’t worry about keeping their pot constantly wet. In fact, if it rains heavily in your area, you may have to move your begonias onto a porch or indoors to prevent them from drowning.

Datura seed germination tips

Datura is a lovely flower that can be grown in pots for the patio or in the ground. It also is known as angel's trumpet, datura is not a commonly grown plant, mostly because eating any part of the plant can be deadly, so plant with caution, and you have to keep the seeds in a safe place. In some places, datura has become naturalized as it reseeds itself under the right conditions. In cold climates, datura is grown as an annual.

BENEFITS OF DATURA

1. Datura helps to heal spasmodic disorders and dealing with respiratory disorders, especially asthma. The leaves, seeds, and root of this plant have medicinal value.

2. Moreover, datura has been traditionally used for religious visionary purposes. It is also used as a hallucinogenic and intoxicant.

3.Datura is used as poison because of the presence of alkaloids such as histamine, and atropine.

4. The growing datura plant acts as insect repellent thereby protects other plants from insects.

5.The juice of datura plant is applied over the scalp to treat hair fall, hair loss and dandruff.

FLOWER SPECIFICATION

Light: Datura does best in full or close to full sun.

Water: Regular watering during the growing season

Fertilizer: Feed weekly with a weak liquid fertilizer that encourages blooming

Soil: L0ight, fast-draining potting soil is perfect. You can use fortified soils.

Temperature: Ambient temperature at about 70° F (21° C).

GERMINATION GUIDE

Any type of potting soil or seed starting medium will do, but using a soilless mix will help prevent fungal diseases such as damping off. Keeping the air around the seeds very moist until they germinate will result in higher germination rates. Placing the pots in a tray with a clear plastic cover or in a clear plastic bag and then closing it tightly will increase humidity. Open the bag or remove the cover as soon as the seedlings germinate. The seeds germinate fastest at temperatures between 70 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Datura germination is erratic and can take anywhere from one to six weeks.

Step 5

Thereafter spread the Datura seeds on the mixture. If your seeds are so tiny then you can spread water very lightly and carefully on the seed.Make sure that the water must be mixed with diluted fungicide powder. It is very important to notice to follow that the seeds will not to go very deep inside the mixture by speeding water on the seed if it happens then the fertilization of the seeds become difficult.

Step 7

Remove the plastic as soon as the seedlings emerge, and gradually move the pot to a brighter area over a two-week period so that at the end of that time they're acclimated to being in full sunlight.

Step 8

Minimum warm, above 60ºF (15.5ºC), is needed inside the container and it should be placed in the sunny area. After that, the whole thing should be covered with a poly bag and after 21 days later the plastic can be removed.

Step 9

watering can as it is required. place the container in a semi shaded place. Datura needs a proper sunny area to germinate it.

GERMINATION CARE

After the seedlings germinate, they can relocate to a sunny south- or west-facing window. The soil is kept moist at all times, but not allowed to get soggy. Once the seedlings have three true leaves, they are fed every two weeks with a liquid houseplant fertilizer. Pinching out the growth tips isn't necessary.

WARNING

Datura leaves and flowers contain toxic alkaloids and should not be planted where they may be consumed by children.

Tomato seed germination tips

The first thing to know is that tomatoes come in two types - climbing, correctly known as ‘indeterminate’ tomatoes, these keep growing all through the season.
There are so many varieties that come in so many colours and sizes that you will have as much fun choosing as growing.

HEALTH BENEFITS

1.Eating tomatoes, ketchup, tomato sauce and tomato paste-topped pizza more than two times a week can reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

2. Vitamin A, present in tomatoes, helps to improve your eyesight as well as prevent night-blindness and oracular degeneration.

3. Eating tomatoes daily can keep your digestive system healthy as it prevents both, constipation and diarrhoea. It also prevents jaundice and effectively removes toxins from the body.

4.Rich tomato components fight acne and prevent damage to skin cells.

GERMINATION TIPS

1.Place your containers in a warm location out of direct sunlight.

2.If the temperature is kept consistently and sufficiently warm, your tomato seeds will usually germinate within 5 to 10 days. Best to keep temperature range 70 to 80F (21 to 27C). However, temperatures below 50F (10C) or above 95F (35C) are poor for germination. (Some varieties need more time to germinate.) When seeds start coming up remove the tray from a plastic bag.

3.If you are using a closed plastic bag, the seeds may not need watering at all before they germinate. If the flats (or whatever container you’re using) are open to the air, check them every day. But remember, the seeds should be damp, not swimming.

Step 4

Use dry media (dry it yourself) Sprinkle diluted fungicide water (2gm in 1-litre water) after sowing the seeds.

Step 5

Remove the plastic as soon as the seedlings emerge, and gradually move it into the pot.

Step 9

watering as it is required. place the container in a semi shaded place.

PLANT GUIDE

1.Tomatoes are pretty easy to look after. Make sure you water them well once or twice a week during hot and dry weather and give them a boost of liquid fertilizer every three or four weeks. If you live in an area that gets very dry summers, it is a good idea to mulch around the plants with a thick layer of straw to hold moisture near the roots, but make sure the mulch does not lie against the trunk.

Dragon eye seed germination tips

The exotic fruit of the Logan tree (Metacarpus Logan Lour); also known as dragon eye, Logan, and amoxicillin chino, has a sweet, musky flavour. Because Logan fruit is difficult to find in the grocery store, some cooks and gardeners grow their own trees to assure a supply of the fragile tropical fruit. When growing Logan trees, gardeners should consider the local climate, the trees' environmental needs, and the availability of seeds, cuttings, or grafted trees.

SPECIFICATION OF DRAGON EYE

Season: Annual

Height: 70 - 84 inches
Bloom Season: Summer through fall
Bloom Color: Yellow
Light: Full sun
Soil Type: Loamy, well-drained, pH 6.1 - 7.8
Temperature: 75 - 80F
Average Germ Time: 14 - 21 days

Depth: 1/4 inch
Sowing Rate: 3 seeds per plant
Moisture: Keep seeds moist until germination
Plant Spacing: 8 - 12 inches

HEALTH BENEFITS OF DRAGON EYE FRUIT

1.Dragon eye fruit can be incorporated into your skin care regimen. It helps to fight the signs of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines when used as a face pack once a week.

2.The amount of vitamin C in dragon eye fruit is high because the dragon eye fruit is a natural fruit which provides a rich balance of nutrients coming along with the vitamin C.

GERMINATION GUIDE
Place fresh Logan seeds on a damp paper towel. Roll the paper towel to encase the seeds. Seal it in a plastic bag and put it in a warm location for two weeks. After the seeds germinate, carefully place each and one in a pot and 1-inch deep in a mix of equal parts compost, peat moss, and perlite. Soak the peat moss and perlite overnight to hydrate the dry materials before combining them with the compost.

Alternately, place peat pots on a tray and fill them with moist seed starting mix, and then sow just one seed in each pot 1-inch deep. Cover the pots with plastic and put the tray in a bright, warm location or on a seed heat mat set at 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the plastic when the seedlings appear. After the seedlings have several true leaves, plant them in the pot.

FERTILIZING
Fertilize Logan trees with a balanced 5-5-5 fertilizer every two months, beginning with 1/4 pound fertilizer one month after planting. Spread the fertilizer over the soil from the trunk to the drip line and water thoroughly. In the second year, apply 1/2 pound of fertilizer every three months, and in the third year, apply 1 pound every three months. Mature trees require 3 to 5 pounds of fertilizer once in spring and again at harvest.

Guava seed germination tips

Guavas actually thrive in both humid and dry climates but can survive only a few degrees of frost. The tree will recover from a brief exposure to 29° F but may be completely defoliated. Young trees are particularly sensitive to cold spells. Older trees, killed to the ground, have sent up new shoots which fruited 2 years later. Guavas can take considerable neglect, withstanding temporary water-logging and very high temperatures. They tend to bear fruit better in areas with a definite winter or cooler season.

In diseases, guava plant suffers from rust, which occurs in too warm weather and high humidity.Besides this, anthracite and leaf spot can be a problem too, both of these occurs in wet humid weather and spread through splashed water. By proper irrigation, you can easily prevent this.

HEALTH BENEFIT OF GUAVA

Guava fruit is one of the most common fruits in India. It is quite harder and prolific bearer. It is a rich source of vitamin C, Potassium and Protein. It is also a good source of calcium and phosphorus.

1. Immunity Booster
It’s true. Guavas contain 4 times the vitamin C content present in oranges.
As the guavas  one of the richest sources of vitamin C , it  helps to improve immunity and protects us against common infections and pathogens.
2. Lowers Risk of Cancer
“Lycopene, quercetin, vitamin C and other polyphenols act as potent antioxidants which neutralize free radicals generated in the body, preventing the growth of cancer cells. Guavas have shown to be widely successful in reducing prostate cancer risk and also inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells since it is rich in lycopene”, says different well known Dr.

3. Diabetes-Friendly
Due to the rich fiber  and low glycaemic , guavas prevent the development of diabetes. While the low glycemic index inhibits a sudden spike in sugar levels, the fiber content ensures the sugar levels are well regulated.

SPECIFICATION OF GUAVA

Growth Habit: evergreen
Foliage: short-petioled, 2 - 6 inches long
Fruits: round, 2 - 4 inches long,

LOCATION AND SOIL
Guava loves the sunny and warm exposure. It is a tropical plant but very much adaptable to temperate climates with moderate winter, when grown on the ground.

For growing guava in pots choose a quality potting mix or make your own substrate using equal parts compost, sand, and soil.

FERTILIZING
Guavas are fast growers and heavy feeders and benefit from regular applications of fertilizer. Mature trees may require as much as 1/2 pound actual nitrogen per year. Apply fertilizer monthly, just prior to heavy pruning.

GERMINATION GUIDE

 Step 5
Thereafter spreed the Guava seeds in the mixture.

Guava needs a proper sunny area to germinate it.

IMPORTANT WATERING TIPS:

Use a watering can for watering. By moving the water stream constantly waves the can. Do not let the water to flood in particular area. Or use the sprayer to spray the water like mist.

1.Do not sow seeds on Rainy day or in a cloudy weather

2.You will definitely end up with nothing, wait for the bright sunny day and clear weather

3. Please check the forecast before sowing the seeds on the following website :

4.Use dry media (dry it yourself) Sprinkle diluted fungicide water (2gm in 1-litre water) after sowing the seeds.
