Papaya's Health Benefit:

Papaya (Carica papaya) exists in tropical and subtropical areas throughout the world. This large, short-lived perennial plant with spirally arranged leaves confined to the top of the trunk can reach up to 30 feet at maturity.Papaya is a cerise-orange colored juicy fruit, which is not only fragrant and delicious but also very healthy. Papayas are also known as papaws or pawpaws. It is a natural source of vitamins and minerals that are essential for the normal functioning of the body. The whole fruit, including other parts of the tree, are beneficial to health in several ways like;

1. Papaya contains enzymes chymopapain and papain, which is very beneficial for promoting wound healing and preventing infection of burned areas.
2. Ointments containing the papain enzyme have also been used to treat decubitus ulcers.
3. As Papaya is also high in fiber and water content helps in proper digestion.
4. The heavy nutrition of papaya helps in preventing asthma.
5. Papaya contains vitamin K,which improves calcium absorption and may reduce urinary excretion of calcium, meaning there is more calcium in the body to strengthen and rebuild bones.
6. The fiber, potassium, and vitamin content in papaya all help to ward off heart disease.
